Napoleon Complex

Napoleon Complex is a state of being overcompensated for one's short height, especially men.

i need you guys' help.
this is the 4th illustration for my thesis, and Gary said it would be better if i crop it like the second image so that the viewers can see the legs right away,I thought it's a great idea but after i cropped it, it looks kinda awkward to me..and I do not know which one is better....

Peter Pan Complex

This is my 3rd illustration for thesis.
It's my favorite so far :)

Cinderella complex: fear of being independence, and usually, it applies to women who rely on the direction and support of a man.

well, this is the first illustration for my thesis, which i have to rework sometimes later.
It was a very tough beginning and i was right on the edge of giving up with my thesis. but a lot of people helped me to stay strong and now i am taking thesis with other pals.. (T-T) hahahaha

well, back to my first piece, i had no idea how it would work since i had no chance to talk about my concepts and sketches with Taxali. and thankfully,Dan helped me to come up with some clever concepts and i could finally mix some ideas together. So it ended up with the glass slipper-wheelbarrow racing idea and the lady is trying to catch the guys with the rope.

i guess i worried way too much about the first illustration, and i lost my control. Now I am kinda happy with the outcome, but i know i have to fix several parts. i just want to share this one since i know my third and fourth illustrations would look sorta different in style-wise and possibly i might change this piece in different style too...dunno yet.
i want to hear some comments from you guys!! enjoy.

Hannah

my dearest friend Hannah and i promised to do a portrait of each other during the summer. Actually I did one on the wood, but i didnt like the outcome, so i tried to redo it. For this time, i used the technique that ive learned from Gillian's drawing and painting class: using only (mostly) warm and cool colours to describe the tones....(ps. Gillian's class is SOOOOO FUN!!!!! she's awesome. )

painting @ MTCC

There was an event for Tourism Toronto @ MTCC today, and 4 artists including myself had to paint @ the front gate of Metro Toronto Convention Centre for about 6 hours.
Our painting had to be about something unique to Toronto, and i decided to draw my rabbit character with some toronto building toys(CN Tower, OCAD main building-not clear tho..), him wearing superman outfit, since the artist of Superman Joe Shuster is a famous Torontonian!

a lot of ppl came, and i was kinda nervous in the beginning, but it was ok overall since they were so busy doing their business :)

(our client Megan took picture of me - i look so lonely lol)

our family in korea moved into a new apartment and my mom found my old paintings(?)which i did when i was 6 yrs old. i took the photos and the actual colours are way better, but anyway, i'm loving them and it's just so funny looking at my 'old' works.. somehow they look better than my recent art pieces..lol
